MSC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
De Paul College started its PG courses in the year 2002 and the total intake of the course is 30 and we have the most proficient and experienced faculty with equipped labs in the college for the department. Many students have got jobs in famous companies after the completion of the courses and our legacy is 100% of placements for all the students who complete the course in organic chemistry.
M.Sc. Organic Chemistry course aims to familiarize eligible candidates with concepts of various chemical analytical techniques, the advanced chemistry of main group elements, f-block elements, organometallic compounds, their stability and catalytic application, an introduction to nuclear chemistry.
The course study provides knowledge of aromaticity, the stereochemistry of organic compounds, pericyclic and photochemical reactions and quantum concoction portrayal of compound holding, reactivity and its applications in atomic spectroscopy and inorganic science Organic Chemistry is one of the most sought after branches in Chemistry. In terms of career scope, organic chemistry is probably the best among all branches of chemistry. Here are some options after an M. Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
- Academic positions. One can always go for a PhD or even qualify NET to become eligible for holding a faculty position in any college /university.
- Pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical industry is a bit worn off these days, but still they are one of the largest employers for chemistry graduates.
- Oil and gas industry. Oil and gas industry requires graduates in Chemistry and mostly prefer Organic Chemistry graduates for various purposes including quality assurance, assistance in exploration and R&D
- Government departments. Several government departments like GSI require graduates in Chemistry for their laboratories.
